As an integral member of a multi-discipline development team, you will contribute to designing innovative products in surgical robotics and navigation. Under the responsibility of the Technical Manager, you will report directly to a software project manager. You will be responsible for developing robotically controlled software for surgical applications. For this, your work will involve close collaboration not only with your fellow software developers but also with the teams developing robotic, mechanical, and electronic innovations, and with the quality teams. You will handle development tasks autonomously, from defining unit specifications through to the phases of unit testing and verification.

Your work will include the following tasks:

  • Writing detailed technical specifications based on either client requirements or the system’s functional specifications,

Role and responsibilities

Working in the Upstream Marketing tram, you will be responsible for programmes aimed at developing new clinical orthopaedic applications on our surgical platform. Working closely with the R&D and Design, Quality and Regulatory Affairs teams, plus the teams on the ground, you will be the product leader at the interface between surgeons and our in-house teams, steering the activity of a cross-functional team.

You will have the following main duties:

  • Upstream of the D&D phase, you will take the lead in establishing users’ needs, evaluate solutions aimed at meeting these needs, and specify the requirements and the product features:
    • Take ownership of the context and the clinical issues,
    • Familiarity with the latest industry developments and the competition,
    • Gathering information from users about their needs,
    • Exploring solutions, developing proofs of concept, evaluating with user participation,
    • Writing the input documents for the D&D phase (Use case, User Needs, Design inputs).
  • During the D&D phase you are the product reference expert, representing users when interacting with the development teams. You will take part in preparing the following:
    • Risk analysis,
    • Clinical evaluation,
    • Usability requirements and analysis,

    • Pre-clinical validation plan and protocols.
  • At the end of the D&D phase, you will lead the preparations for market release, namely:
    • Preparing pilot clinical sites, including staff training,

Role profile and skills

Role and responsibilities

As an integral member of a multi-discipline development team, you will play a central technical role in designing, validating and marketing innovative Medical Imaging products with a robotics component.
Under the direct responsibility of the CTO, your main duties will be:

  • Steering product development, with responsibility for monitoring the schedules and project budget and ensuring good coordination between the multi-discipline teams, reporting regularly on project progress and financial aspects,
  • Collaborating with the quality teams to make sure the applicable procedures are being followed, and with the regulatory affairs teams on compiling accreditation files (particularly for Europe and the USA),
  • Defining user needs and product usage scenarios, by participating in technical meetings with the surgeons involved in design, and by helping to collect client feedback on the products being developed,
  • Translating user needs into product requirements, and in turn into the technical and functional specifications of the system, while ensuring that each element can be tested, and managing the life cycle,
  • Defining the hardware/software architecture of the system and the interfaces between different subsystems, and contributing to their functional specification,
  • Ensuring the global coherence of the technical solution created, to satisfy product requirements from a functional point of view and attain the required performance levels,
  • Participating in technical and project meetings with clients,
  • Defining and setting up monitoring of the product’s technical performance indicators, in collaboration with the development teams,
  • Defining the IVV (Integration, Verification and Validation) strategy, plan and protocols for the product,

Role profile and skills

A qualified engineer or holder of a 5-year (minimum) higher education diploma in a technical discipline (computing, mechanical, electronics), you have at least 5 years’ experience as a system architect in the domain of high-tech product development for medical imaging and/or robotics.

You possess multi-discipline technical skills (software, mechanical, mechatronics, electronics) and are a proficient user of project management methods and tools. You are thoroughly familiar with the environment for developing complex medical devices featuring both hardware and software, and the associated regulations (medical standards IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304).
You are proficient in defining needs/requirements/specifications and hardware/software system architecture, and are also conversant with validation methodologies from unit verification through to final product validation, and risk analyses such as FMECA.
Ideally, you have led a team before and are used to working in a dynamic environment.

The Application Engineer (AE) is responsible for technical demonstrations, user team training, installation and basic on-site maintenance of the installed base of innovative complex medical systems. The duties of the role include:

In a multi-discipline and ambitious context, the main tasks you will be required to work on are:

  • Writing patent applications, in close collaboration with the company’s intellectual property advisors and the product inventors,

Role profile and skills

You hold a 5-year/8-year higher education diploma in at least one of the following areas: physics, computing, applied mathematics, image processing, robotics, mechatronics.

At least 2 years’ experience of patent writing, in a specific firm or in an industrial context, is essential for this position.

A CEIPI diploma would certainly be an asset for this role, but is not essential.

An excellent command of written and spoken English (minimum B2, if not C1), especially technical, is paramount for this role. Proficiency in an industry-standard patent search tool (e.g. Patsnap, Orbit Intelligence, Clarivate Analytics) would also be an advantage.

Role profile and skills

A qualified engineer or holder of a 5-year (minimum) higher education diploma, with a mechatronics specialism and at least 5 years’ experience, ideally in the medical device industry or another industry subject to standards, you have strong skills in the following areas:

  • Mechanical design and modelling using CAD and finished items (Solidworks).
  • Design of electrical & electronic systems.
  • Communication protocols (CAN BUS, RS232…).
  • Development environment subject to standards (IEC 60601-1 would be a plus).
  • Operating security.

You are interested in products that have to meet the needs of demanding users in a powerful quality and regulatory environment. You are able to work independently, with a high level of involvement and proactiveness. You work efficiently and are accustomed to dealing with the unexpected, and have an excellent problem-solving and analytical mindset. You are results-oriented, pragmatic and able to switch between theoretical design and practical application. Poste et missions

Partie intégrante d’une équipe de développement multidisciplinaire, vous participez à la conception, validation et mise sur le marché de produits innovants en robotique et navigation chirurgicale en étant le lien entre les clients et les équipes d’ingénierie apportant votre connaissance du terrain (bloc opératoire en orthopédie). Rattaché(e) au Responsable Technique, vos missions principales sont :

  • définir des besoins utilisateurs
  • revoir avec les équipes techniques leur traduction en spécifications techniques
  • organiser et conduire des démonstrations de produits en développement aux clients
  • organiser et mener des études formatives et sommatives d’ingénierie d’aptitude à l’utilisation (sous la direction d’un ingénieur spécialisé)
  • participer aux discussions avec les chirurgiens concepteurs et à la collecte des retours clients sur les produits en développement
  • participer aux campagnes de validation des produits en développement Des déplacements sont à prévoir en France et à l’étranger.

Profil et compétences

Diplômé(e) Ingénieur ou Bac +5 minimum, idéalement avec une spécialité biomédicale, vous avez au moins 5 ans d’expérience dans l’industrie des dispositifs médicaux pour la chirurgie orthopédique, idéalement chirurgie du rachis. Vous avez de solides connaissances dans les domaines suivants :

  • Environnement du bloc opératoire
  • Techniques chirurgicales en orthopédie, idéalement chirurgie du rachis
  • Spécifications et Validation de dispositifs médicaux
  • Idéalement en étude d’ingénierie d’aptitude à l’utilisation Une excellente maîtrise de l’anglais est indispensable (écrit et oral, niveau C1). Vous vous intéressez aux produits qui doivent satisfaire des utilisateurs exigeants dans un environnement qualité et réglementaire puissant. Vous savez travailler en autonomie avec un fort niveau d'implication et de proactivité. Vous êtes efficace et avez l’habitude de faire face à l'imprévu avec un excellent esprit d'analyse et de résolution de problème. Vous êtes orientés résultats, pragmatique et savez alterner entre des tâches diverses. Vous avez à coeur de livrer dans les temps et savez travailler avec de fortes contraintes de planning. Enfin vous êtes rigoureux(se), curieux(se) et faites preuve de capacité de travail en équipe.

Role and responsibilities

The Production Quality Engineer’s objective is to ensure that the manufactured products and/or services entirely satisfy the requirements of the company, of regulations and of clients. To achieve this, the Production Quality Engineer proposes optimisation solutions, devises and writes procedures, and transmits the operating instructions to the technicians. If a product is defective, the Production Quality Engineer may halt manufacturing until the problem is resolved. As guarantor of the balance between productivity and quality, this engineer is constantly required to explain and discuss the approach, and convince others, both in-house and externally (suppliers and subcontractors).

Directly answerable to the Production Manager, and under the functional authority of the Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs with regard to the defined strategic focuses, the Production Quality Engineer has the following duties:

  • Implementing the quality strategy,
  • Leading and coordinating the process for handling product non-quality,
  • Being the interface with suppliers in order to tackle non-conformities and monitor how they are dealt with,
  • Monitoring the R&D change process actions that affect production,
  • Steering the process of managing CAPA that arise in production,
  • Leading actions to improve quality in production,
  • Helping to construct and maintain quality indicators in production,
  • Guaranteeing quality control of inputs during the manufacturing process,
  • Guaranteeing identification and traceability in production,
  • Supporting the Purchasing Manager in the supplier evaluation process,
  • Checking the documents and conducting final inspection of the MDs produced,
  • Constructing and revising the manufacturing orders, in coordination with the Production Manager,
  • Training production personnel on the QMS procedures,
  • Supporting the Production Manager in developing and updating the procedures,
  • Monitoring sterilisation and documenting the dosage audits,
  • Guaranteeing the process of controlling the measuring instruments used in production,
  • Mastering the pest control process.

Role profile and skills

  • Holder of a 5-year higher education diploma, you have a similar amount of professional experience (at least 5 years) in Production Quality Assurance, within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry or in an industrial environment that has a demanding quality system.
  • You are comfortable working with quality control tools, investigations, divergence management and non-conformity reports.
  • Ideally, you have some knowledge of gamma sterilization and are familiar with standard ISO 13485.
  • It is essential that you are a fluent user of English and master the standard office tools.
